Blogging tip: don’t let the trolls get you down

It’s pretty much a given that as soon as you start producing content to share that someone is going to come along and piss on your boots. People might rip you for all kinds of different things. I already read this somewhere else. This isn’t real news. I thought this would be funny.

You know what? Who cares. People won’t all share your sense of humor. Some people read hundreds of RSS feeds and spend all day on Twitter. They’re bound to see some of your topics covered elsewhere before you get a chance to write them up. You’re not a content creation network, you’re one person. All you can do is stick to your guns and keep on writing.

If you’re writing to satisfy other people, you’re going about it all wrong. You’ve got to write for yourself. Whether it’s for your wallet or just for your own fulfillment, it’s important to remember that your blog is an extension of you. You put it out there. You control it.
